Roots beneath the earth never sleep. They stretch toward one another, intertwine, search for a path, and then, one day, sprouts break through.
For two days, Lastādija Quarter and Paraugtipogrāfija (KM12) will transform into a living whirlwind of creativity, where a surprise awaits around every corner. One courtyard will echo with music, another will be filled with dancing, somewhere else someone will be balancing in the air, singing, creating, playing, or inviting you to sit down at a shared table. There is no single stage and no single direction here, everyone finds their own path.
This is not an event to watch from the sidelines. It is a journey to wander into, to get lost among courtyards, follow sounds, coincidences, and people. Let the roots carry you somewhere you never knew you wanted to go.
Come celebrate the 11th birthday of Lastādija and the 2nd birthday of Paraugtipogrāfija. Together, for two days and nights, we will grow something that only exists when we come together.
Come take root. Come sprout.

…the program is still growing.
“Saknes un asni 2026” is a two-day cultural whirlwind taking place at Lastādija Quarter and Paraugtipogrāfija (KM12) in Riga. The programme includes live music, performances, contemporary art, dance, acrobatics, workshops, food, and drinks.
The event takes place within the framework of the project “Lastādija – a model of untamed culture”, supported by the Riga City Municipality.
